Name Maker Studio v6.3 Help

Thanks for Downloading Name Maker Studio, NMS is an easy to use funname maker, but everyone has problems somtimes. Read the help below, if you are still having problems using NMS after reading this, post in our support forums on the RamPage Software homepage.

Contents:

Configuration:

Configuring Name Maker Studio is a piece of cake, if its your first time running NMS, it will ask you to go through a setup process, simply follow the directions. If you skipped it on install heres what you do. Click File then click Configure then set the correct paths to Quake's ID1 folder and Quake3's BaseQ3 folder, then click save. Easy as that, if you don't have that game, just leave it blank.

Creating a name:

First start off by selecting the "MODE" (Game/Application you wish to create a name for.) Name Maker Studio's default mode is set for Quake III: Arena. Once you select your mode, start creating your name by clicking the characters from the charactermap.

Using your name:

Using your name is different in every game. Please read below until you find the game you wish to use your name for.

QUAKE: First click "Game" then select QuakeWorld (or if you select QuakeWorld MOD choose a bitmap then click open). After its in either QuakeWorld or QuakeWorld MOD mode, create your name then click "File" then "Save Name" save the file as name.nms in your /quake/id1/ folder. Then enter a quakeworld server and type "exec name.cfg" in the console and your name will appear!

NOTE: You must configure NMS to use this feature.

QUAKE2: This is probaly the most confusing because of the 2 different modes. select Quake2 (ASCII Standard) to create a normal Q2 name (your name may not appear to other players though) and save it in your /quake2/baseq2/ folder. as "name.cfg". Enter a game, go to the console and type "exec name.cfg" and your all set!

NOTE: This ONLY works with RivCTF and Viking Server Modifications!

Hexen II: First click "Mode" then select Hexen II (or if you select Hexen II MOD choose a bitmap then click open). After its in either Hexen II or Hexen II MOD mode, create your name then click "File" then "Save Name" save the file as name.nms in your /hexen2/hw/ folder. Then enter a hexenworld server and type "exec name.cfg" in the console and your name will appear!

Quake III: Arena: Create your name and save it in your /quake3/demoq3/ or /quake3/baseq3/(Depending on whether you're using the Demo, or the full version). Once saved execute the name.cfg file or whatever you saved it by going to the game's console and typing /exec name.cfg or whatever you named the file.

NOTE: This will NOT work on the Q3Test versions. Why you would still be using it, I don't know.

JumpGate: Copy the name and paste it in the name space for the game JumpGate for now. This game isn't fully released so we don't know for sure.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Save the name as a config file in the Wolfenstein/Main folder where the wolfconfig.cfg file is located and save it there as aname.cfg for example. run the game execute the script to enable your name in the game use /exec name.cfg in the game's console.

Note to users:

Dear User,

Sorry for the changing of sites and such, Stomped.com gave us the boot off their servers for reasons unknown. Its a shame too, we had bout 10x as much traffic there as we do here. Though Telefragged is a MUCH closer network and puts more into it's community. We plan on staying here as long as we can, probally even after we make our second big software release.
